ABC and ABC Family will take their first runs of "The Polar Express" during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season, one year earlier than usual, because the movie will bypass pay TV.
"The Polar Express" is one title in a package of movies that Warner Bros. Domestic sold to ABC and its ABC Family and Disney Channel siblings in March.
The other titles include "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride."
ABC will take a run of "Express" in November for the movie's TV debut. A couple of weeks later, in a basic-cable premiere, ABC Family will take multiple runs of "Express" during the network's annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming stunt.
