A Dumfriesshire town has come under fire for erecting its Christmas lights more than three weeks before Halloween.
Langholm is the first place in Scotland to put up their festive decorations after being one of the last in 2005, but due to a fault the lights have shone all night.
The move has stunned the 2,500 residents. And the town's MSP, Christine Grahame,
said: "I feel sorry for the parents of Langholm. They are going to be plagued from now on by screaming children asking when Santa is coming because youngsters have no idea of time."
A team from Dumfries and Galloway Council have spent the week putting up the lights in Langholm, with the big switch-on due on 25 November.
But a technical problem resulted in the lights on display all night last Wednesday.
