"What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" remains my favorite song to come off Berry Gordy's Motown lable. Originally crooned by Jimmy Ruffin, here is Joan Osborne's version. Joan is perhaps my favorite female singer of all time! Her strong, captivating, heart felt, vocal delivery trandsends across genres and is second to no other! No "stylizing" here; just good honest singing!

Recorded with the world renowned, always moving Motown house band collectivly known as the Funk Brothers, here is "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" from the documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown".

Though their story is tragic, Badfinger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badfinger) turned out plenty of good music in the Seventies! This is a great example of one of their lesser known tunes! Thanks for finding this one xmas365!

Does any radio station these days play lesser known album cuts of the artists of the sixties and seventies? If anyone knows of one that has an online listen link, please post it!

Totally! Was that one concert?!? Great lineup! Big Guster fan here, too. And, as a Canadian, I also enjoy BNL.

Hands down, the Bosstones was the best show I've ever seen.

A very great night! Unfortunately, Guster rarely comes into Canada. And, if they do, they only go to Montreal or Toronto. Never Ottawa. I'll have to take a road trip the next time they come up.

Tom Paxton was the original performer and writer of this song, the Move covered it in a much heavier rock sound, I love all 3 versions here, the Move had a different lineup in their 2 covers.
