What do you do for New Years?

what do you guys do for new years? is it a night in/night out? who with?

i usually go for a meal with my partner and then go and meet family and friends at about 9pm and go out for drinks. it's usually an all night one! i really like to celebrate new years.

I'm afraid Bah Humbug comes into play with me at New Year. Hate it and go to bed early!!

We stay in play games bake and cook a bunch of finger foods.we toast with apple juice..kids love it.

We set up and watch the New Year's show's ,kiss each other at midnight and then go to bed.

The last few years we have gone to our trailer at the lake on NYE. We spend the night there (there is no water at the trailer in the winter, so we don't actually spend much time AT the trailer) & we walk up to the little bar down the road. They have a NYE party with a DJ. We can bring in snacks & they have free sausage, kraut & black eyed peas at midnight. Friends of ours normally join us & spend the night at the trailer too, so we can all have drinks & nobody has to drive anywhere! (NYE kinda scares me on the road anyway...) Some of our lake neighbors do the same, so we get to meet up with them again, since we don't normally see them from November through March. I enjoy spending NYE there. Of course we always think we have to close the bar down & then talk for awhile once we get back to the trailer, so it's been 4am or later til we go to bed... Ah well.... :)

Funny ,short story.When I was still living at home my brother and I set up and watched the New Year's show's. A little after midnight my brother went to the kitchen .My dad who was already in bed told my brother to get out of the fridge ...my brother replied,"but dad I haven't ate since last year":lol:

I just like fire works. This past new year there was a big youth party at my former youth pastor's house. We had soooo much fun. The sky was absolutely beautiful cause you could see ALL the stars in the sky cause we went out to his cow pasture to fire the works. LOL!

Typically NYE isn't good for DH and I. It's one of those days where we feel like we should be doing something fun but we can never really decide what to do. We don't like to be out on the roads with the drunk drivers so we don't want to go out and our apartment is too small to entertain.

But, last year we went to a hotel in a nearby town. There was a party with a DJ, plenty of food and a champagne toast at midnight and the only travelling we had to do at the end of the evening was upstairs to our room. It was so much fun that we'll probably do the same thing again this year.

In the desert there isn't much to do but look at the stars if it's not overcast and go to bed. The local cowboys love to shoot their guns into the air and hopefully the bullets won't hit anyone on the way down. The spouse's birthday is the 3rd so that's more fun to celebrate.

It has changed so much over the years.

I used to go out to celebrate, then after I got married we had NYE parties at my house with drinks, appetizers and games.

Now we just hang out at home and watch Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve and celebrate amongst ourselves. I would really like to go out this year, but I know I would feel bad if I didn't ring in the NY with my daughter. :S

lol! sounds like fun. new year is bittersweet for me, it upsets me because christmas is over : ( but i enjoy it because i'm bringing the new year in and it's like a fresh start. (plus, it's an excuse to go and get drunk!!!!!!)

We've stayed in the last 3 years because of being pregnant/the kids. It's fun. We go over to my In Laws house and have a meal then play some games and hang out until the ball drops. Then I usually go to bed, but everyone else stays up.

New Year´s Eve is my niece´s birthday....so we usually stay at my brother´s place and celebrate into the new year with them....last year Sarah (it was her fourth birthday) was up till midnight the first time to watch the fireworks...Kandice was up, too....It was impossible to get her to sleep....:D....I think when she starts clubbing and going to parties...she´ll always be the last one to go home

funny thing is....I have never really been drunk on New Year´s Eve....even tho that´s when people drink a lot...for whatever reason....I drank..but never ended up with a hangover the next day.....But I´ll sure have my fair share of strawberry punch

sounds nice....that´s pretty much the way we do it, too....mostly a TV-Show "Best New Year´s Eve Party Songs" is running for hours, so we join in singing and dancing (usually my niece, Kandice and I goofing around)

Im not a huge fan of NYE. We use to go over my friend Erica's but now that we have our son its too hard. Last year my Dad had to work and my Mom came over..we watched a movie, then watched the ball drop in New York City on TV..did a toast and went to bed! Not very exciting...

:cry:My husband and i usually stay home for New Years, but it's a really nice night for us. WE have appetizers that night, and just relax and enjoy spending the evening together. If by chance we do fall asleep before midnight, one of us usually wakes up before the New Year arrives. We wake the other up, and see the New Year in. Sometimes we'll get out of bed, and have a toast at midnight.

since my nephew will be only 2 months old on New Year´s eve...and we will celebrate it at my brother´s....the party won´t be too loud....only if he´s a bad sleeper and doesn´t fall asleep before two o ´clock....jus kidding.....we are going to play Nintendo Wii (my brother and sister in law bought it for themselves) and listen to music
