Lyrics in the classic Christmas hymn "Away in a Manger" describe the cattle as 'lowing" during the birth of Christ. That's not exactly how the director of the soon-to-be-released Christmas feature "The Nativity" describes the problems they had with the animals during filming. Manger scenes are being shot in Italy, under the watchful eye of the Italian Humane Society.
