Went over to my sister-in-laws house after Halloween - she already put up her X-mas decorations!

Is this too soon. It just seemed odd so early in the season???

On another Christmas forum I'm on there are a lot of people who are already putting out their outdoor display's. Some of them put out literally 100's of the blow mold's/plastic yard art and also do the light display's that is set to music.

I think it's a little early, but there's nothing wrong with that! If it weren't for my husband, I would probably put mine up a little earlier than the day after Thanksgiving, but I'll wait just to keep a happy home!!! Lol! If I were you, I would grab a cup of egg nog & join in the Christmas celebration at her house!!

If it makes her happy, why not? She isn't hurting anyone.

My brother has had his up for weeks now and usually has them up by Labor day weekend! He insists I do it then for him. I usually don't start with the big stuff until Thanksgiving but, I just put up a 4 foot tree today!!! It's cool with me, if she's got the spirit roll with it!!:tree:

To each their own. I have a few Fall decorations that I use for Thanksgiving (a cornucopia with filled with fresh fruit and dried foliage, and some small pumpkins that weren't carved for Halloween) that I put out yesterday. I try to take it one season at a time.

For Goodness Sake! Yes - please DO tell her about this site. Email it to her, if you have her address. We will welcome and cherish her! We all respect everyones' way of celebrating.

(Well, OK, I don't respect people who string mannekins up by their necks for Halloween, but.... you know what I mean.)

My sister will probably put hers up sometime this week...she usually goes right from Halloween to Christmas. :tree: A bit early for me but I'll be putting mine up the weekend before Thanksgiving so it's not like I wait much longer.

It's too early for me, but to each their own. I see fully decorated Christmas trees in people's front window Nov 1st all the time. And someone had a Navity set and Christmas lights already set up on their roof this weekend.

It's whatever tradition people follow. In some countries, decorating very early is just custom.

:tree:It seems too early for me, but as long as your SIL is happy, I guess there's othing wrong with it.

With everything going on in the world, I say EVERYONE should put up their stuff now!!! If it brings joy to your sister-in-law, then it's wonderful. If someone walking/driving buy sees it and it brightens their day, then even better. I want to put mine up right now.
