Got a flyer through the door today giving the Christmas opening hours for our local supermarket. I don't know if it will be worth their while but from December 22rd, they will be open 24hrs until 6pm on Christmas Eve.
Bruce is trying for a middle of the night shift so he's free all day - all the better to wrap my Christmas presents (well, what else can he do while school's off, eh?!!)

Wow! They're really on the ball this year, aren't they? We have a 24 hour supermarket and a 24 hour Super Wal-Mart in our town and I have to admit, sometimes it's dead handy.

wow....over here in Germany....some big super-markets just started to be open until 10pm....and I have to say....that´s enough for my taste...:D.....but when I was in the States....it was the coolest thing to drive to the Supermarket at 11 to get some photos developed and pick them up at 12pm...:)
There is nothing like shopping in a 24 hour Walmart at 2AM. S-C-A-R-Y!!!!

It's not QUITE as all singing/all dancing as Walmart but it'll do nicely!! I once went Christmas grocery shopping at 11pm at night. It was brilliant because there was hardly anybody else there and the staff were restocking for the next day which meant
a) no fighting for a parking space
b) no fighting for a check-out
c) plenty of choice
I'd definitely do it again but luckily this year it'll happen here as opposed to having to drive 16 miles for the privilege - AND I get to use Bruce's staff discount card!!!

Wow ! That's very unusual for a European supermarket ! Are we finally making progress ??? The latest any supermarket stays open here is 09:00 PM on Friday's. On Christmas Eve they close early so their personnel gets to celebrate too which I think is fair. But on the other hand I would't mind if they stayed open till 10:00 PM.

Yeah, I can also vouch for the party food! It's lovely! The mini toad-in-the-holes are fab!
