I had the luck to go to London this weekend ! It was so much fun ! It's already getting all Christmassy, especially the window displays of department stores. The streets were immensely crowded though. I can't imagine what it will be like in the coming weeks when people from all over the world go to London to do their Christmas shopping !!

I went especially to visit the "Country Living Christmas Fair". It's organized by a British magazine called "Country Living" and it was sooooo much fun ! They have all the things I love for my house, not just Christmas things but all kinds of stuff. I spent hours there browsing the stalls and buying lovely things ! Simple things like pretty notepads, a journal, an apron, a sign to hang above the door that says "live well, laugh often, love much" and things like that. Nothing expensive but just cute little things in that typical English country style that I love so much.

I also found some cute Christmas things like a bookmark, an advent calendar with part of the Christmas story behind each window, gingerbread man (from Starbucks), a book titled "a perfect Christmas", ....

The Christmas season has really begun now !

To all UK members here, if you get the chance go to the fair in Glasgow this weekend; it's really worth it !

I've posted some pictures in an album but it's still being moderated.

Thank you Kerst!

I would so love to visit London and experience it all. They don't decorate the store windows here where I live. And the "Country Living Christmas Fair "sounds like it would be right up my alley .

I was supposed to of went to London for a month back in 1979 for my high school graduation present from my parent's,instead my mom decided to file for divorce from my dad ,so I never got to go .Nice graduation present eh? :(

That's pretty neat. This Friday (Nov. 21st) is Light Up Night here in Pittsburgh. That should be fun!

Thanks Kerst! It must be about 20 years since I did christmas shopping in London (and I was a winky then!!!).

I really remember going in Hamley's (a huge toy shop) and seeing all the goodies and going round harrods!

I didn't even make it to Harrods !! You'd need an extra day for that ! Luckily the shops stayed open pretty late !

I was in London yesterday....of course, this London is in Ontario Canada cheesy Took a bus load from here for their company Christmas party. They were a wonderful bunch and lots of fun to drive.
I went to White Oaks mall while they partied and enjoyed nosing around all the stores. Disappointed Santa was not there, I love watch him with the kids.
It would be so much fun to go to London England. :hello:
