If you go to church does your church have a Christmas Eve service?

No, which doesn't bother me too much. What bothers me is when they cancel services so people can spend time with family. What about those people whose only family is the church? They're stuck at home thinking lonely thoughts (many times).

I love midnight mass. At the church I was married in, they would put beautiful Christmas trees with white lights on the altar. There was a beautiful nativity on the side altar. At midnight mass they would have the minimum amount of lights lit so you could see the beauty of the trees and nativity while the choir sang Christmas carols and hymns. Our family tradition was to bring a piece of straw from our home nativity and exchange it for a piece of straw from the nativity at the church.
This past Christmas, Mike and I were sick and couldn't go to midnight mass. We ended up going to the mass at dawn...which was the readers digest condensed mass....25 minutes. Never again!!!
