I've been debating whether or not to post this as Christmas news. It is to me and it is a bit sad.

Glenn Ford starred in Pocketful of Miracles, a movie I've always considered a Christmas favorite. He died yesterday at at 90.

Glenn Ford was the last in a long line of real Movie Stars...My feeling has been, for quite sometime, that Hollywood sort of turned it's back on Mr. ford. Never a celebration of his life, never a lifetime achievement award. I really feel like he was abandoned. He had a web site that I visited occasionally. And i sent emails with the hopes of hearing from him. I got a response from someone who may have been his daughter who said that he doesn't respond personally but he was aware of the good wishes that fans like me sent and it meant alot to him. I always counted him as one of the classier of Hollywood. And like you I've felt he was...neglected. Any idea why? Makes me wonder what his politics were back in the day....

I think he was a "live my own way" kind of guy! He played the rough and tumble character often...Perhaps he was like that in real life too! I remember him on a show called Tattletales hosted by Bert Convey...He had a great sense of humor, but like you say, classy...90's not bad at all!!! I'll take 90 any day of the week!!!

oh jeff!! another thing we have in common! pocketful of miracles IS a xmas movie to me too! ppl think i am crazy when i say that as it doesnt take place at xmas or have anything in it about xmas. however, ALL YOU NAYSAYERS, it is steeped in the spirit of the holiday, so poo!

(plus, i never see it on tv any other time of the year!)

so sad to hear this news. he was a real movie star!

Then you're in for a treat. Do NOT go out and rent this movie. Just buy it. It is a Christmas keeper for sure.

Well all you had to say was Frank Copra directed it and I would have believed you. It's A Wonderful Life is one of my favorites.
