Okay, this might not seem a big deal to you, but I have just watched the Rose Parade for the first time since I left Canada. I was channel surfing and on the Travel Channel was......The Rose Parade!!! Nobody in my house could understand what I was whooping about!!
Well.........I was pleased!!!

I love watching parades, especially when they are good ones like the Toronto Santa, the Macy's Thanksgiving and the rose bowl

The Rose Parade is so beautiful that even people who don't like parades -- do like the Rose Parade.

That's one of the traditions that our family does every year. We watch it on tv then go shopping usually (at least that's what we used to do). I lived in Long Beach, CA for 20+ years and never saw it live. It's an ex husband thing..... and I use to work down the block from the Long Beach Mounted Police. One day I would like to go to the parade.

I have never seen it - seems like I'm missing out big time. I do watch the Macy's parade - love seeing the broadway routines and the school bands.

Ok, here's the plan, Dec 31, 2009 you get to bed late (New Years and all), then you get up about 10:00a.m. on Jan 1, 2010 and turn on one of the major TV channels, ABC, NBC, HGTV etc.... and there you have it...... Then you go shopping.....

I was lucky enough to attend the Rose Parade in person this year. We took some really good photos, but I also picked up a bad cold and have been sick ever since. When I feel halfway human again, I will try to upload some pictures. One of the highlights of both the parade and the Rose Bowl game was the fly-over of the Stealth bomber. It was awesome. Well, it's back to bed for me. I just can't seem to shake this bug!!

Oh C, I hope you get better soon..... I'm sure the floats had so many different aromas around them it had to be intoxicating. One of these years I'll make it to the parade.
