1966-1967 Sears Catolog - FLASHBACK!

All right folks... time to go in the "WayBack Machine" Mr. Peabody and look at some adds from the Sears catalog in 66 and 67.

OMG How I remember these Rod. I was around 6 or 7 years old then. That brings back such great memories for me. If you only knew. I do hope that you post more photos.

One more thing, I remember way back when Sears came out with what I thought was a huge catalog filled with everything a person could want.

This sure brings the past back to life for me thats for sure!!

Our house was purchased in 1916 from a Sears Catalog!! too funny!!!

I have whats listed below with the big catalogs. I have a few more i bought recently not on the list and some from the 90s and 2000s - but no one really cares about those..=)

Our house was purchased in 1916 from a Sears Catalog!! too funny!!!

Half the houses on my street (including mine) are "Sears Houses"... there are about two or three basic designs, but they generally all look alike... one of the "features" of a Sears home was a grassy strip down the middle of the driveway... I HATE that *%@#*$! thing! Show of hands... who else has to "mow" their driveway in the summer? Apparently, that was a very popular thing to do back in the beginning of the 20th Century...

My younger brother had that Tonka dump truck with a real working hydraulic lift... I think it's still in my dad's basement somewhere... those things were virtually indestructible..!

Yeah the only plastic my Tonkas had in the 70s were the wheels and they were thick.
We broke so many things with those trucks - they were tough!
Now ..... - well whats the point - might as well make paper airplanes ....

Toys were built to last back then, now they are built to last at least until the spring then Ma & Pa will have to replace it for Junior who was convinced that if he let it roll downstairs it would survive.

We had the strip, but just last year converted to black top. It's easier to shovel snow too!

My neighbor plowed my driveway this past winter and really tore it up! So, I believe we'll be removing the grass strip this Spring.
