Today I am saddened by the passing of Steve Irwin - tv's Crocodile Hunter. I know he doesn't have anything to do with Christmas, but like Christmas, he brought joy and laughter to so many. He wasn't perfect (ie the feeding the crocodiles while holding his son) but who is? His infectious teaching about animals was enjoyed by millions. Who hasn't said "Crikey!" at one time or another? He didnt' try to gross people out or talk down to them. He just told you about the animals. I know he will be missed on my TV.

Oh that we all can go doing what we love. For me, I'd need to get that stab from a stake of holly in my heart.

Happy trails, Steve!

It was very sad. He left behind a wife and two children.

I was up at 1:30 in the morning last night a couple hundred miles from home at a friend's house, fixing his old Windows Me computer when I ran across the story, still unconfirmed at that point. Real sad. I liked to watch his shows, though I thought he was as bonkers as Timothy Treadwell.

He was such a positive guy. We really need more people like him. He will be missed.

I was driving to see friends a couple hours away from our house when I heard about Steve Irwins death on the car radio. I was so sad-I enjoy his shows and think his enthusiasm made him lots of fun. One thing for sure he really enjoyed being with his wife and children. He talked about them alot.
