Over the last few years the latest development in artificial Christmas trees has been in material and design. The great majority of trees manufactured in the past have needles made from PVC (poly-vinyl-chloride). More recently, a new breed of artificial Christmas trees with molded tips made from PE (poly-ethylene) has appeared on the market. The needles on these molded tip trees are made in a mold created from their real counterparts, resulting in a far more realistic appearance. Although high quality PVC trees do look realistic, artificial Christmas trees made from PE look so real, you really have to get up close and feel them to discover they’re not. If you’re looking for the most realistic tree you can get, there’s no doubt that the best choice is a tree with molded tips.
