This one was a hit for looks but not taste. I tried some new recipes for the icing and the filling, neither of which was a hit. So I guess it is back to the basic stuff that people like the best.

Another beautiful one. It always amazes me that people still like the same old flavors of cake. I like to spice it up and mix things into my frostings. I did a choclolate cake with a cherry filling petite four last year at christmas and nobody liked it. They all wanted chocolate cake with just a plain buttercream filling. I told them they all need to live a little. One of these days I am going to sign up for the cake classes at the local craft store. I am better with molding and filling chocolates right now but would like to learn to do cakes.
