I have shared his story with you already. He had been battling leukemia for a year. Ben had just turned 19 a month ago.
Our church sent out this email:
With much sadness, we are contacting you today to inform you that Ben went home to Jesus at approximately 12:30am today, Wednesday, August 19.
Please pray that God envelops the entire Elliott family and loved ones with love and comfort today and in the days to come.

I just found out today too. I think we go to the same church. I have been getting his mother's updates daily on Facebook over the last week while Ben was getting weaker. It was so hard to read some of them, but his story gave my heart so much encouragement.
From his final statements at church, we know he was able to journey Home with out fear and with complete surrender to God. His bravery over the last year could only have been from God and his story is such a testament to the strength God provides in our darkest hour.
I pray his family continues to lean on God for their strength.

I'm so very sorry for your pastor and his family...and for the entire congregation. We lost my father-in-law a couple of years ago to leukemia. It's a horrible disease. :(

How very, very sad... as far as I'm concerned, 96 would be "too young"... but he is done with suffering and at peace... I pray that his family may someday soon find a small portion of that peace... but the loss will never go away until the day they're all reunited in Heaven... prayers for everyone.
