If you're the praying type, say a little prayer for my mom. I just got a call that she had congestive heart failure and has been covering up some complications of diabetes for about a year. I'm headed home to PA now. If you aren't the praying type, just wish her well and either way I'll keep you all posted. :-(

Absolutely, Sheep. All the best to Mom. Send her some Christmas love from us to go along with the prayers!

I am praying for her. I pray healing for her now and that all complications will cease by 3 John 2, Isaiah 53:5, and Psalms 107:20.

I'll make this quick because this dialup is killing me! Mom's doing much better. Her BP has come down from over 200 to something more manageable. They have drained some of the fluid off from around her heart. She also had what they thought was a diabetes related sore on her lower leg. It was really big. Turns out to have been dermatitis from when they removed a vein 6 years ago to graft in someplace else. Dad's up and around; a far cry from 2 months ago when he was bedridden. Thanks for your thoughts and posts and prayers. You're good friends. 8)

It was so good to hear from you all, especially you, Twinkle. I thought you had dropped off the planet! Mom may even be coming home in the morning, if her tests go well. Dad and I have been eating like bachelors while she was away. Nothing but meat and cheese. If anyone asks, we just tell them we're on an Atkins diet. 8)

One thing I have noticed here in the country is that there are more than six stars in the sky. It's like my vision has returned. No city lights to ruin a perfect view of creation. We'll find out in a little while if Mom is coming home this morning or not.

Thanks for the updates, Sheep. I'm glad that you Mom is getting better and that you are able to enjoy some of your time there. How many stars are you up to now?

Stars are a beautiful thing. I was in awe of them when I was in Australia. I could see the Milky way clear as day. I also saw the Southern Cross.

I just lost a whole paragraph due to dialup woes. Mom's home! Lots of drugs and stuff, but home, so we're very grateful. Thanks for everything. I'll talk more when on DSL again. 8)

Hey Sheepsnot, what part of PA is your family in? I was born and raised in Reading. PA.

We're from the northwest corner, just south of Erie, in a little town called Edinboro. Actually, we live in the sticks, but our address says Edinboro, or Dead and Boring, as the locals call it.

My mom lived in Meadeville for a very short period of time. To cold for me. We went up over Christmas and Lake Erie was frozen over.
