I'll have to agree with the Jim Carrey version of the Grinch. Just didn't do a darn thing for me...

Not a Jim Carrey fan so I didn't care of the Grinch. My kids never liked the books or the cartoon version.
Love Christmas Story and awww Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life, a movie about giving and reaping what we sow. it's beautiful. Love both movies.

I too love Christmas Story, it's one of my favorites and I keep it on for the entire 24 hours that it plays on Christmas eve but, the movie that I absolutely despise...It's a Wonderful Life!

I have always been afraid to say I did not like the Jim Carrey version of Grinch. I did not. Really disappointed me. I do love the cartoon version. Maybe that was why I was so disappointed with the other.

I would have to agree with the Jim Carey version of Grinch, although I have it on DVD, I only watched it once since I got it.

Come to think of it, I don't really care too much for The Santa Clause or Jingle all The Way. I don't really mind them, but not on the top of my list.

That is funny because I own the dvd to A Christmas Story, watch it a lot then when it is on for 24 during Christmas I tend to turn it on as well. I watch other stuff too but I go back and forth within that 24 hours. I don't like when the marathon of it is over, I know Christmas Day has come to an end. :-?
This thread is what I don't like and at the moment I cannot think of anything so I will have to post back.

I love It's a Wonderful Life, The Grinch, The Santa Clause (all of them), Christmas Vacation and most every other Christmas movie ever made. However, I did not care for one version of Miracle on 34th Street-it's the one from the mid to late 70's, I think..it was just not good. The "newest" one-from the early 90s was ok, but you'll never top the original!!
That's the only one I can think of off hand that I just flat out don't care for. Most of the animated ones are great, but there's some of those that I find tiresome. Can't think of any names right off hand...

I didn't think the remake of, Miracle on 34th Street, was near as good as the original either. I was disappointed with it.

Yes, Miracle on 34th street is another one that I can't stand. The original and the newer one. I don't like either of them.

I tend to like most Christmas movies to one degree or another... LOVE the original Miracle On 34th Street and It's A Wonderful Life and White Christmas... kinda enjoy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story and found Elf and Fred Claus to be surprisingly heartwarming...
The ones I don't think I'll like, I just don't watch... I certainly don't HATE them... "hate" is such an ugly word to use when describing anything Christmas...
However... they made a movie about The Christmas Shoes in 2002 starring Rob Lowe and I so LOATHE (see? I didn't say "hate" cheesy ) that song that I refuse to watch the film, so I can't say if it's any good or not.

I find the "made-on-a-shoestring-budget" Hallmark movies to be far superior to many of the current crop of big budget theatrical releases... the Hallmark's aren't afraid to insert the true religious meaning of the day in, at least...

I think my least favorite Christmas movies are Deck the Halls and Surviving Christmas. I tend to be fond of the overly sentimental movies. Although, I do love the Grinch and A Christmas Story. I think the movie I play the most is The Family Stone. It reminds me so much of the chaos with my family!

If you view it more as a Halloween movie, you might enjoy it better...

It's a rare Christmas movie I don't like and I might be alone on this, but I find Polar Express to be incredibly creepy. The elves in the movie really give me the heeby jeebies. The one I watch the most might have to be Elf or It's A Wonderful Life.

Can definitely see why Polar Express might creep you out. It's the dead eye look of the animation but that movie in 3D is so amazing.
I am curious as to how Christmassy is Love Actually? I have never seen it but really enjoy the british movie style and always looking for a new Christmas movie to watch. Would anybody suggest it as a Christmas movie?

Ok..I didn't think I could have a least favorite Christmas movie but I just watched it last night. I went to a thrift store yesterday and bought some Christmas vhs tapes for a quarter a piece. In that collection I got, Lassie's Christmas Story. It was the worst Christmas movie I ever seen. I would expect Lassie to be really good heart warming story but it was a little too violent for a Christmas story. There is a murder in the story and several attempted murders. Not that I never watch violent movies but sure don't expect it to be in Christmas movies and sure didn't expect that from a Lassie movie. (not over the top violent with blood and gore but too much for Christmas). :-? I want my quarter back! lol
Edit: I just looked online for this Lassie's Christmas Story movie and also found another titled (slightly different) "Lassie's Christmas Stories" that looks like it came from the series. The series one might be good. The one I got yesterday was the movie with different actors in it. Instead of Timmy being in it, it was a kid named Tommy. I don't want to confuse anyone on which one I disliked. I would actually like to get that other one, I am sure it would be a lot better. So far, I cannot find the one I bought yesterday online.

I enjoy "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" once the theme song is over. It's one of my summer Christmas movies.
Whenever "It's a Wonderful Life" comes on I have to change the channel or turn the TV off.

The only poor Christmas movie to date I can think is Nationals Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2 'Eddie's Story' I think. I have only so far watched first 25 minutes I might try it again some time. Also didn't think much to Pee Wee's Christmas adventure although the first time I watched I was 36

Bad Santa...ick, ick, ick. I hate anything that blasphemes Christmas. Now that said, my 23 and 24 year old sons and their dad think stuff like that is hilarious. They know better than to put anything on like that when I'm around! Not a prude, not at all...just don't mess with Christmas!

I think they all pale beside "It's a Wonderful Life", but then that's just me. I am obsessed with that movie and everytime I watch it, I find more to love. So, yeah, a lot of these other movies are stinkers by comparison!
