MY HOUSE IS INFESTED WITH BUGS !!!!!!! WHAT A NIGHTMARE !!!!! Actually wish it was just a nightmare. Unfortunately it is only too true. I started getting bug bites about a week ago. First one then two by now I am covered in them. Mostly on my legs from my toes to my thy but also on my arms and a few on my stomach. I've been spraying with bug spray to keep them at bay but of course they keep on multiplying. The problem is they're so small you can't see them !!! I actually feel a pinprick and then immediately an itch, well a terrible itch. But there is no trace of a bug. Yesterday I had an expert come and look but he couldn't find anything. He just made an expensive proposal with no promise or guarantee that it would work. Last night at 03:00 AM I fled my house after taking a shower and putting on clean clothes so I wouldn't carry the bugs with me. From other stories I've heard and read up on the internet it could be bird mites. Just to be safe I'm having pest control come in and spray my house top to bottom. There are a lot of cracks in my walls and double ceilings where they could be hiding so I won't take my chances with "bombs".

anybody else got this problem ???? And did you get rid of them ????

God bless you.

It sounds like flea infestation. I've never heard of bird mites infestation in a home.
I hope you can get the problem taken care of and back into your home soon.

It may sound strange but I have heard of bird mite infestation only because I work in a feed store and we deal with pest control. We never dealt with that before but a customer had a real bad problem with it and just like you we never heard of it as well but it is very real. I first thought it could be fleas but you can see those when they jump on your skin but cannot see them on the floor.

Here is something I got from another site:

Possible Bird Mite Infestation?

Parasitic infestation from bird mites too small to be easily seen without magnification.

Pinprick bites with or without lesions
Frequently intense itching of the skin
Vague sensation of crawling on the skin
Bite marks and lesions that heal very slowly
Increase of symptoms in certain areas of the home
Increase of symptoms at night and in humid weather
Physician suspects scabies but the treatment does not help

This is the website I got info from:

http://www.birdmites.org/

Best of luck to you and I hope you can get rid of this problem.

That's exactly what it feels like and now I've got them in my office too !!!! But I'm getting one of these bomb sprays right away. At least my office is only one space and I'm the only here. Hope they'll be gone by tomorrow at least in the office. Pest control is coming tomorrow at 10:00 am.

Ouch! I once looked after a lady who had bed bugs, they left a row of bites across my stomach when I carried the linen to the wash. That was so itchy, nearly drove me nuts. We also had to have her house sprayed.
I will be praying you figure this out quickly and get rid of the problem.

The house was sprayed yesterday and now I'm staying at at an aparthotel for the weekend. Am allowed to go in on Sunday (DO I HAVE TOO ????) to open the windows and then I'll grab some clothes and start washing. Well, now I know what it feels like to be homeless :-). But at least I get to go back in a while except it needs to be sprayed again in a few weeks to be sure none of the eggs have survived. So I think I will stay away until then.

I feel for you because we've had a moth problem here! The little b******* are literally doing my head in, lol We've now bought some cedar wood cubes to put in cupboards but I suspect they'll go when the cold weather comes!

I've rented a furnished apartment for the next few weeks. The house needs to be sprayed a second time mid October and then EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the house will have to be washed off. It's not over yet but at least I'm comfortable now and BUG FREE !!!! The bites are starting to heal and the itching is mostly gone thank goodness !!!

thanks for all your support !
