I felt cut off from the world this morning. I guess Jeff was doing some updating. Did we know that was going to happen?

My guess is that it was a problem and not maintenance because Jeff would certainly have told us in advance and sent us all free chocolate to help us make it through the day. Well, he would have sent you vanilla instead. 8)

I suspect we'll get a formal report this evening or tomorrow.

All I can say is it scared me. I went to Walmart on my lunch break and bought ornaments for my tree to get through it. I hope that never happens again. Actually I had to get hairspray and discovered Walmart put more Christmas stuff out. They had some great Christmas balls for my tree that were red and gold with teddie bears on them so I bought a couple of boxes.

After work I stopped by Cracker Barrel and picked up some cool Halloween stuff, on sale 25% off already!

Does Cracker Barrell have their Christmas stuff out yet? I got some of my ornaments for my tree from there a couple of years ago. We have quite a few Cracker Barrel around here.

One table was all Christmas, but the rest was fall and Halloween.

Last year they had a great mug set I wanted to buy but money was really tight then. It was dirt cheap, too, and beautiful. I hope they are available again this year. :-)

I was really busy at work today. I was actually a bit stressed today. I came home and drank two glasses of wine to calm down.

I tried explaining how lonely it felt without MMC today to my wife, but, because she's a licensed therapist, she kept asking me, "And how does that make you feel?" She really thinks I have a problem now. I have grown accustomed to talking with you all almost every day.

I'm with you Sheepsnot but I guess fortunately or unfortunately for me I have no one to answer too. You should get your wife in here. She's not interested?

No, not social enough. Very quiet, except around me.

Does she enjoy Christmas as much as you?

Sure, she likes it, but she was raised differently, so her expectations are different. Her parents gave her everything on her list. Mine just giftwrapped the list. 8)

LOL! Yea me too. My parents just fought and fought and fought. I miss not having a family to enjoy the holidays with. It sure would be nice to have a partner to enjoy life with together.

We need a backup plan in case this ever happens again. You see how lost we were today? We need a "safe room" to run to in just such cases. Make it happen, number one!

I can see my boss coming in and asking what I'm doing. "I have to text message my friends because our Christmas site is down again!" "Goodbye, Dave."

Guys, guys, guys...we have plenty of backup plans! You can always go to The Xmas Place.com -- or Christmas Talk.com -- or Talk Christmas.com -- those are all sites of the Merry Network and we've purposely put them on separate servers just in case something like this happens.
The Xmas Place had a break down in August and they came here. It was even a little fun.
Yeah, everyone has their preference for their home...but the other groups will be more than happy to make a little room when the basement here gets flooded.
And that way Sheep can keep his job.
