AuntieMistletoeDear
10-13-2006, 05:51 AM
:point: Okay, so I was going to say you were wrong before I even knew what the subject matter was - just because I'm not traditionally known as a follower.

However, I have enjoyed my fair share of PB with or without the J and lacking bread I can't see anything wrong with a spoonful.
My mom used to give us a spoonful of peanut butter when we had the hiccups. She said, "by the time you get that stuff off the roof of your mouth, you will be cured" and most of the time we were.

My husband's heading out the the grocery store shortly, he's going to look for some Eggnog for me. I'm not really supposed to have it, but I go through four containers a Season. Wish it were more.

When we used to travel, we had our fair share of soft drinks to accompany our chocolate bars, chips, cheese puffs, etc. Most of them were colas of some kind or another.

It's hard to believe we've reached 7 pages on the original subject of whether or not it is right to eat it from a spoon.

 That's one of the quirky things I like about coming here.

:D Yeah there are more - do you want the list - just look around - it's all over the place.

:-) I have to look when I go out. My husband didn't find any. Sometimes we get it in time for the Canadian Thanksgiving. They have it our West, but my husband said it wasn't in yet. He inquired about it, stock shelf boy wasn't sure when it would arrive.

I never quite get the same taste from homemade eggnog.

auntie em.... you really can make eggnog and it really is easy and you can use splenda (didnt i read on another thread that youre diabetic?) homemade eggers made with splenda really really is good!

:-) Yes you did - and thanks, I actually have two great recipes - it just never tastes the same. I know a few people who use Splenda instead of sugar (some use brown sugar) - is Splenda made from herbs or manufactured to taste like sugar? I'll look into that.

8-) We used to use Dry Ice from the Butcher Shop to spooky-up our house for Halloween. I don't consider myself an expert, but here's a plan for shipping eggnog.
First you get a large roast ban and then you get the dry ice place it in there toss in the eggnog container - and put the lid of the roast pan back on secure with duct tape :D and that oughta do it.

I've never used splenda. I use sweet and low in my tea but will have to try splenda.

dominick
10-15-2006, 04:38 PM
I know I'm in the minority here, but I find Splenda unpalatable. It's fine at first, but it has the oddest aftertaste to it. I actually prefer Equal above all else. I'm not saying that it doesn't taste funny, but if it does I've been conditioned for it. They have Equal in a larger container... I think it's called Equal Spoonful... for those who wish to cook with it. It works alright for me.

mrshfromjersey
10-15-2006, 06:04 PM
I find that if you get the correct amount of Splenda, you don't get as much of an after taste. I also don't use only Splenda. What I do is 1/2 Splenda and 1/2 regular sugar. I have even used this blend in kool-aid and dvdguy didn't even notice the difference....or didn't say anything about it.
