I took vacation from the 17th through Christmas and go back to work on the 28th. My sweety loves to go to certain neighborhoods to look at decorations. We are also planning a little getaway during that time. I am really looking forward to it.

Being self emplyed and working from home, I can do what I like ;)
However... running a Christmas site takes up all of my Dec (and also most of Nov for the past couple of years) and I have to stop my 'normal' work, just to look after the site! So you might see more of me on here as I'm 'Christmas' working!

The only reason I had Thanksgiving and today off is because Thursday & Friday were my regular off days this week and not enough others scheduled annual leave to affect me. However, his weekend I’ll be working overtime with one being a double shift. I’ll be dragging Sunday afternoon for sure!
Though my regular off days will also fall on Christmas Eve and Christmas this year, I may have to work overtime during that long weekend as well. I guess you can tell I’m lowest in seniority at work!
Stupidity and meanness never observe holidays. Don’t drink and drive or drink and loiter! If you do, I may supply the chaser! If you steal, rob, or otherwise menace this holiday season, I hope to provide some of you with a cold, harsh place to stay.
Act right! Remember; I have the coroner’s number on speed dial!

I've been unemployed now for 5 months. Just got hired and am starting a new minimum wage job on monday. I get the 25th off. That's it.
All the companies I've ever worked for only ever gave you off Christmas day and half of christmas eve. I envy those of you getting so much time off!

Technically we are off of work Dec 25 - Jan 4 but I'll probably schedule myself off for the 23/24.
I can't believe we don't have Christmas Eve off this year. It's terrible! But I'm sure it could be a lot worse so I should probably shut it.
As I don't work life could be classed as one long holiday.
Only Xmas has no snow more glitter and sparkles.
Than the average month.
Altho i think if a tourist was visiting Sydney Mardi Gras they may think it competes with the glitter n sparkle of Xmas.

Our company is closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. I'll at least take off the three days between Christmas and New Years, and I might even take the 3 days before Christmas. 16 days in a row for the cost of 6 vacation days...might be worth it!

That gives me an idea...if I take off Dec 21-24 (4 vacation days) then I will have 16 days off too!!!
Man. I never even thought of it. Thanks.
