This isn't going to be an easy task, and it's very possibly nobody will ever be able to find my beloved tapes my parents gave away to goodwill on my 10th birthday. But I figured, hey, I'm here. Let's give this thing a shot. Because after 10 years, I am beginning to have nostalgic flashbacks and fond memories of these holiday songs I use to play on my 1980's gray Little tikes tape recorder before going to bed. I'd like to find the album titles so that one day I may be able to share the exact same thing I listened to.
At first the clues might not be very helpful, but with your help I may be able to unveil more later.
I know I can find these songs by themselves easily, but what I'm trying to find is the actual album and the chronological order they were played.
Here are some of the songs that were either on one of the tapes or on two separate ones.
-The Story of Silent Night
-Snoopy's Christmas (not just the song, but the entire sketch and story from the beginning)
-Mary's Boy Child
-I Sam Mom kissing Santa Claus
-Dominick the Donkey
-Twinkle Twinkle (ELECTONICA)
This version of the twinkle little star tune was one of my favorites growing up because it started out simple and then towards the end, it turned into a powerful orchestra. It wasn't really a Christmas song but it did capture than childhood essence. And I always enjoyed it during Christmas, afterall it was a christmas cassette.
Description:
In the beginning of Twinkle Twinkle it begins playing using just a Japanese koto musical instrument, no chords. As it gains steam it plays a percussion in the background, then the koto, followed by dial tone(phone) followed by a violin, and then followed by strings.
The way it works is, each time Twinkle Twinkle completes, it adds another instrument until it becomes a full blown orchestra and then fades back to just the koto instrument
This (Twinkle) is the most important musical piece because this song was maybe put into an album once or twice in it's existence.
Well, hope you can help. If not, thanks for trying. :?
