Welcome, SIF! I've been to Ireland many times. Loved it for the most part, though Belfast in the early 80s was a trip! Lotsa barbed wire and armored police cars to make a Yank feel nervous. Beautiful country with beautiful folks, though. Tell us all about your Christmas experiences. 8)

Thanks once again. Well, as for Irish customs regarding Christmas time, I'm afraid it's very similar to the US's! :(
We tend to wait quite a long time until putting the tree up... maybe a week and a half before the big day. :-? I'm guessing, by reading a thread on ''tree-putting-up'' that I'm fairly off your dates. Nontheless, this only increaces the magic on decorating, and putting up the tree. It really is nearly Xmas when we put it up.
I'll be sure to keep you in touch with our traditions.....Thanks once again for the welcome.
