Holiday

About the time change, & it getting dark so early?? Last night was depressing, but tonight will be even worse...once I get off work, there will be just over 1 hour of daylight left! Ugh!! :( Thank goodness it's almost time to get those Christmas lights out to brighten up the night! :merry:

Ugh, I dont like it right now. My body clock is all messed up...I didnt get any sleep last night and I am really dragging today. Plus it messes up the routine of my walks in the afternoons.
But it wouldnt feel like the holiday season without it so I will adjust in a few days and look forward to all the Christmas lights!! :D

You must be solar powered. A lot of people are. My sisters live up north and have a hard time fighting off depression in the winter. Once the holidays are past, it is a long stretch until spring! Our sunset is 4:53 today, so after being in the dark all day at work I get to go home in the dark as well. I actually prefer it for some reason. My mother was a night person, I think. Dad used to call her an old bat. :D

I think that is alot of my problem. I work in the server room with no windows, no lights and its cold all the time. I am behind a locked door on a floor without windows so if I want any light at all I have to go to the back door downstairs. I get off around 3-3:30 most days so atleast I will be able to get outside some before it gets dark. Atleast it is daylight now when I come to work.

yeah, well I dont really get depressed, its just for the first few days I am tired and don't sleep well. I do know of some that suffer from it and use a light box to help with the effects.

Hee hee...sounds like a good cure to me! I just really don't like it getting dark so early. Makes it seem much later than what it really is. My SIL brought her kids over for trick or treating last night & I was thinking "she has these kids out awfully late on a school night" & here it was only 8:30!!! It felt more like 10:30!!! I don't get nearly as much done when it gets dark so early...I just get tired & lazy earlier!

My sleep rhythm is out of whack. I want to go to sleep at 6:30pm. Last night I went to sleep around 10pm and then woke up at 1am and couldn't get back to sleep. At 3am I finally got back to sleep. Once my body gets used to it, I'll be better.

Christy, Man can I relate! Not so much now, but back from my days in the Air Force. I was stationed in Alaska. I got up in the dark, was locked in a windowless basement studio for 8 hours and went home in the dark. I didn't miss much though, since winter that far north meant sunrise at 11:30am and dusk at 1pm. Unless I was on time for lunch when working day shift, I never saw the sun.

Oh that had to be horrible. I do have a girlfriend that moved up there a few years ago and she still gets some daylight during the winter months but its alot less than she is used too.
I think I am gonna start going outside during lunch some. We really dont have a place to go and sit and since we are downtown its not the safest place to try to walk but something has to be better than nothing.

Haven't you heard of the Redfield Arkansas mob, Erv? Ok, I am actually surprised to hear about much crime. Are you working in Little Rock?

Yeah, I work in LR (and hate it). Didn't you hear it ranked 23rd in the country for most dangerous city? I can believe it...they had their 51st murder of the year Monday night. It's unbelievable.

Trying to keep up with the Memphis Joneses? We used to turn the news off at night after three or four murder stories in a row. I'd like to see the whole list and see where we rank.

I believe Memphis ranked on there too in fact. I wanna say 11th maybe. I saw the report on msn.com so you might search their sight. It was on there Monday.

I don't mind it getting dark earlier but I can't stand it being so dark ALL DAY LONG. Today I had to have all the lights in the house on all day long because it was raining all day and it was really dark out. :(

I usually put a strand of rope lights around mine. The reason I use the rope lights is because they came with a dimmer; if the lights are too bright they're distracting.

Ugh, my body clock is still out of whack. I am seriously thinking about turning in after CSI goes off tonite. Nothing is good on at 9 (Disney reverted back to Halloween by showing Hocus Pocus) so maybe I will give in and turn in early since my body thinks it will be 10.

Christy, I can not thank you enough for reminding me that I was supposed to record CSI for my girlfriend tonight. She would have been awfully PO'd if I forgot since I told her it wasn't necessary to set the timer. :D

I had heard he was leaving the end of the season in '05 and thought that weird Tarantino episode was gonna be his last but maybe he pushed it back.

I never thought he was the most compelling character on that show, so I think they could replace him without any problems. Maybe Rob Schneider is available. I'd watch it just cause I laugh just looking at the guy.

I think hes the main guy, they need him. hes always figuring the stuff out. Wont be the same without him

While I agree that he's the focal point of the character pool, I also think his endearing qualities are as much a result of the writing as they are his acting. The character itself may be more missed than the actor, but he plays the role well.

I haven't really watched the others, either, but last night A&E was showing a bunch of episodes of CSI Miami. I'm sure I'd enjoy it more if I got to know the characters. I've seen maybe four episodes of it, and I think three of them involved David Caruso shooting someone.

Since I moved to Florida it doesn't bother me as much. Because it's still warm outside at night and you want to be out. It's when it's cold and dark that I can't take it. It does make it feel more like the Christmas season though because you can turn your lights on early.
