Have a nice time. I went to London earlier this year. I didnt get much chance for sightseeing as I went to a concert.
You must check out Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. Oxford Street is the main street for shopping, check out Harrods ( i know they are expensive but worth a look) Id go just to say Ive been there hahaha. Erm, Picadilly Circus, its not a real circus of course but a great place to get a picture taken. The Art Museums are always worth a look too.:tree:

Staying in central London tends to be VERY expensive unless you're happy with a real crappy place. If you want better value for your money look for something near an underground station in a suburb. I stayed at a B&B last time which was comfortable and fairly new. Only the breakfast was lousy. There was a croissant in the fridge in your room and some jam or something and you could make coffee or tea too. I don't remember the name of it. I'll see if I can find it later.

Plenty to see and do ! Your weekend will be too short !

Go to Hamleys...Europes oldest and largest toy store, I love it there!

I stayed at 291Suites on West End Lane NW6. It's a bit of a distance but worth the effort. www.291suites.co.uk (http://www.291suites.co.uk)

Selfridges have had their Christmas department open since end of August.

Don't forget Covent Garden!

Hotel-wise, check out Premier Inns. We stayed in one in Kensington and it was a very good price, lovely room, great service and excellent well-priced restaurant. www.premierin.com (http://www.premierin.com) They are all over London and don't seem to charge more for being in central London.

Try and avoid the underground during the rush-hour.

We might go up to London on Saturday to see The Pope.

Have a great time!

Try and pop into Selfridges as they have an amazing Christmas display.

Hamleys is fab for toys and Fortnum and Masons for a Christmas pudding to take home - same place the Queen gets hers from!:rudolph:

I'm glad you had a great time! I originally come from the very north of London but we rarely went into the city - I guess if something's on your doorstep you tend to ignore it!

I really look forward to seeing the photos.
