I seem to be the only one in my family who gets into the Christmas spirit :( I'm the one who likes to listen to Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas", and who likes to read Christmas stories, and have a big tree with beautiful decorations on it, and lights outside, and decorations everywhere! I feel so alone :( I always like to decorate my bedroom with Christmasey things on December 1st. I have a mini Christmas tree. It's so cute! I make little sculpey ornaments for it. I also put a wreath on my door, and I fill up my CD player with all of my Christmas music, which includes: Bing Crosby Christmas set, James Taylor Christmas, Christmas Dinner music, and Lee Ann Womack Christmas music. It puts me right in the mood!!! :???:
Maybe this year I can get everyone to feel happy. It's the best month of the year!

Don't let others ruin your Christmas spirit, it's too bad other family members don't share you enthusiasm. When you have your own family one day your spirit will carry over to your children. You aren't alone now though as you can come on this forum anytime as we all love Christmas.

Well you're certainly not alone here. I used to have a little tree in my bedroom, too. It was about 1½' tall and I carefully decorated it each year with what few ornaments I had. Then I graduated to a 3' tree because of all the new ornaments I had accumulated. Finally last year I bought a 6' tree and this year it's in my bedroom!
:wiggy:
I'm trying to find somewhere to put the 3' in here, too. Aside from that I have another 6' to decorate in the den, a 7½ or 8' in the living room, and a live Evergreen outside to decorate. The 6' in my bedroom is already up.

You do fit right in..you sound just like me!!! I still go home to put up my parents tree & decorations for them b/c I'm the only one in our family who really, really enjoys it!! My one sister is almost as big of a Christmas nut as me & she has offered to help Mom with her decorations, but she's too late!!! That's MY job!! Lol!! :) (I would let her help if she really wanted too, but so far she's been a no show on decorating night)

Thanks you all. I don't feel so alone now. My mom told me this morning that we are only going to put up a little tree  I was so disappointed. But, she said there will be lots of baking, and music, and reading Christmas stories to replace all of that stuff. I think the stuff is wonderful to put up, but when it comes down to it.....if you don't have Christmas spirit.....you don't have Christmas!
Oh! She also said we'll put up our beautiful Christmas wreath on the door, and we're going to get a pointsettia plant! Yay!

Yeah, it's the same in my family. It's often me listening to the carols, watching the Christmas movies and just being in the spirit. DOn't get me wrong my family celebrates Christmas and all it's just they don't really get into the spirit. I'm so obssesed with Christmas I love the weeks leading up to it and just getting into the spirit!!
God Bless,
Matt

I can relate to being the only one who really stays Christmassey year round in my family, and even in my circle of non-MMC friends. Folks just think it's weird and childish. Hey, we still take care of business, but we love Christmas, too!

Some of my friends think Christmas is childish, I offer them some "special" eggnog

Special as in with some extra "warmth", or special as in you forgot to put it away a few days ago when you bought it?

I spice it up a bit so they become more "spiritual" 8-)
