Take a break from Christmas shopping and decorating and vote. Maybe have an eggnog before heading to your polling place, will help calm your nerves in those long waiting lines, and possibly pesky electronic machines.

For the first time the wife and I are going to wait until after work. I hope we can get in before the polls close. Is there a rule about those still in line at 7:00?

going that late makes it more difficult to vote more than once

Last night on King of the Hill, Dale Gribble was introducing himself to former governor Ann Richards and said, "You probably don't remember me, but I saw you on TV once." I laughed for ten minutes. Dale is the funniest guy on that show. Now, before you ask how this is related to the topic at hand, let me fabricate a train of thought: voting, politicians, deceased voters still voting, deceased politicians. See?

I actually voted early last week.

We have a close race here in TN, so everyone is encouraging everyone they know to get out and vote (even the local xmas music radio station is talking about it).

I would be more enthused about voting if they had the voting machine decked out with Christmas lights

One vote gets you a carton of eggnog. I'd vote several times for that!

I was standing in line last night behind some nice hippy fella. We were trying to come up with good exit lines, like, "Hey, it was much faster this morning!" He asked my wife what she did for a living and she said she was a psychotherapist. He hesitated and asked, "Is that one word?" I almost fell over laughing.
