In Swansea it should be on the 19th of Novemeber which is also the day the Winter Wonderland is opening.
I hope it doesnt rain this year so I can take my little boy. Its either too cold or raining every year.
I wouldnt say the lights are spectacular, but at least its something. Maybe I should go on the committe for Christmas Activities LOL :tree:

My hometown in which my brother still lives, usually turns on the lights on Thanksgiving night which will be Nov. 25th this year. There aren't any lights in my town I live in now because we are a township, not a city. I'll have mine on by Thanksgiving though.

Early December is when we have our annual festival. The lights usually go up a week or two beforehand. cheesy

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, Santa comes to the fire station and has hot chocolate with the kids in town and then turns the lights on after a countdown

In early December, we have a parade that Santa Clause rides in and they light the Christmas tree as well. I turn on my Christmas lights usually the day after Thanksgiving. :tree:

Since last year was my first Christmas in my new town,I did not pay too close attention when they lit up the lights. I do remember seeing them lit till at least a few days after new years day though. Last year was not the best for me I was really out of it and the christmas spirit, but this year I am going to notice when they turn on!

Well, October 16th is the opening of the Bay's "Christmas Street", the 5th floor of the big department store downtown that transforms into a wonderland featuring various connected themed rooms as well as a Toy Land. The 106th Santa Claus Parade will be November 21st downtown with a free breakfast. The department store windows will also be unveiled, or possibly a bit sooner. This is also the day Christmas Street has its big start of the season with free hot chocolate, cider and cookies as well as the arrival of Santa and other holiday characters. That same night is the Holiday Magic lighting ceremony with outdoor performances in Yorkville.
The "main" downtown lighting ceremony, and lighting of the Xmas tree, the Cavalcade of lights will be November 27th with a holiday fireworks show moving to carols & music, free ice skating and live performances!!! I can't wait!!!!

Kelly Anne - The Swansea christmas parade is on sunday 21st nov and winter wounderland is 19th. Reason it openening before parade i think is due to the amount of people wanting to go straight into the wounderland last year with some pople/kids missing out at was too full and there we many upset children.
Im very excited for my son this year as he will be taking part in the actual parade on one of the floats. I did get an offer too but i bottled out of the dressing up part-id never live it down, shame on me:-?
