Hi everyone. I have a special request, Christmas family. Some of you may think this is really silly or stupid but could you all say a little prayer for one of my older kitties ? Her name is Punkin'. She is 15 years old and a Calico and just the sweetest litle thing. She is very sick. She has gone from 8 pounds to just 6.13 pounds in a short time. I am so worried. I know to some she may be "just a cat" or "just an animal" but to me, she is more than that. So if you could just say a short prayer for her I know it would help her. We don't know what is wrong yet as we just took her to the vet this morning. If it is her kidneys, then she is not going to last long.
I am so very tired of loss. Anyway, so sorry to be so morbid today but I am just so worried.

I don't think it's silly at all, and I will be glad to offer prayers for your kitty's health....and for you too. I hope that your kitty is much better soon, and that you will have some more time to enjoy her presence.

Awww! I don't think its silly to feel that way about pets! I love Dogs and Cats, Pets are wonderful and bring so much love into our hearts and demand so little from us in return for the love they give us. I will be sure to include you beloved kitty in my prayers and pray she will get better and will have a lot more time with you!

So sorry to hear Punkin is not well. It sounds like she is a very loved pet of yours. I know how much a pet can wrap themselves around your heart.
We lost a dear kitty, Tiea to kidney problems, she was 12 years old at the time.

We have a calico and she, too, got sick and lost a lot of weight quickly. We took her to the vet, and he said something was wrong with her thyroid. He put her on pills, and she's still alive, two years later. She is 13.

Caninemom,
Please give us an update on your baby. I know it is so scary when things like that happen. When our baby was eating all the time and still losing weight, I was really scared. Ask the vet if it could be thyroid.

Hi everyone. I finally have an update on my Punkin'. It seems that Punkin' has a problem with her liver. Her bilirubin is elevated as well as her ALT and alkaline phosphatase. The vet thinks that it is caused by biliary sludge from the liver. The good news is that the vet thinks he can turn it around. She is going to be admitted to the hospital for a few days for IV fluids to help flush her system and hopefully get the biliary sludge that has accumlated moving again. Please keep praying everyone !!! She is feeling better. She is on Tagamet, an acid reducer that helps with GI symptoms caused by her liver. As weird as this seems, I am glad for this diagnosis. I was afraid it was renal disease, which if any of you have ever lost a kittie, know is a very bad diagnosis. So that is where we are. You have all been SO WONDERFUL !!!cheesy You have indeed once again proven to be my Christmas Family. May God bless each and every one of you. I will let you know how the fluids work out. She will probably be admitted for 3 or 4 days. I cannot express my gratitude enough to all of you. xo
