I'd have an eggnog and fix the flat tire later

Eggnog is a good alternative to fix-a-flat, so just bypass the garage and buy two cartons of eggnog.

sorry about the tire. Where do you get eggnog, I have yet to try it, and yet to feel like making it.

YAY!! We have another lover!! We may need to start a 12 step support group around here soon.

Ervserver

did you sip or slurp it? did you point your little finger upwards as you tilted the mug?

mrshfromjersey
11-13-2006, 01:39 PM
We picked it up at ABC liquors. It is the kind with the alcohol already in it. It was so very yummy. I plan to pick up the kind without the alcohol too. ElfWorks has convinced me to make my own from scratch, whici I will probably do next weekend.

GingerMel
11-13-2006, 01:42 PM
You can get the kind without alcohol in pretty much any grocery store around this time of year. In the south we can't buy anything but beer in the grocery store, so we can't get the alcoholic egg nog without going to a liquor store.

Regular is good too though (and you can just add your own whiskey or rum).

Ervserver
11-13-2006, 01:44 PM
Some of the store bought is as good as home made..no doubt about it

dominick

I haven't tried home made yet, but I think I'm going to try to make some in the next couple days.

sheepsnot
11-13-2006, 06:18 PM
You need a partner to call when you start the 2nd quart. No point drinking all that by yourself. I drank about three glasses of lowfat nog today.

Ervserver
11-13-2006, 10:51 PM
I shared a quart with a guest Sunday, nog tastes even better when you share it with someone special

HollyJells

eggnog is yummy, so is spiked spiced cider. I FOUND out food lion up the street from us had gotten their shipment of nog in 2 days before halloween and i went up and got 3 jugs. needless to say they were gone by 11 30 pm that night, so yummy, creamy, and sweet. Makes me go weak headed at the thought, to bad they are closed right now or i would walk myself up there and get a jug.

HollyJells

LOWFAT eggnog? OMG I seen eggnog made with SOYMILK, yeck. NO thanks, gimme my creamy rich FATTENING whole milk eggnog. do NOT mess it up with lowfat, soy versions.

On your second quart?? Oh my goodness! I can't even fathom drinking that much on one day (well I could, but I'd have to be on the treadmill the entire time). That is one serious addiction.

All hail the King of Egg Nog!

HollyJells

I just found out that Steak and Shake is going to have an Egg Nog milkshake for the holidays. I believe I will have to go and try it!

GingerMel
11-16-2006, 07:59 AM
I know...they have signs in the window. I'm fighting off the holiday weight gain though so I haven't tried any of those shakes. hah hah.

I've been drinking so much egg nog at night that I don't have room in my calories for milkshakes too!

Actual egg nog...egg nog milkshake...actual egg nog...egg nog milkshake.

It's a difficult choice but egg nog always wins out (plus it's in my refrigerator waiting for me when I come home).

Erv should probably give us a recommendation as to which place has the best egg nog shake. I know McDonald's and Steak and Shake both have them. Steak and Shake's version has got to be pretty good because they have such awesome regular shakes.

Ervserver
11-16-2006, 08:28 AM
Erv don't have Steak n Shake here but hears Sonic has eggnog shakes and hopes to try them soon

I just found out that Steak and Shake is going to have an Egg Nog milkshake for the holidays. I believe I will have to go and try it!

I am thinking the one S&S we had left (which was just a short walk from my office) has closed and they put in a B-B-Q place instead. Unless you air express me one I guess I will have to stick with Sonic.

No wait, Andy's also has eggnog milkshakes so the next trip to Wal-Mart I could always run by and pick one up!! :D

GingerMel
11-16-2006, 08:31 AM
I could pack you one on dry ice and send it to you.

sheepsnot

I bet a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a glass of eggnog at home would do in a pinch.

I have never tried the eggnog one but I have had B&B candles and they are alright. Nothing wonderful but they will do.

I could put that it's biohazardous material on your package (I work in a lab) but then I probably wouldn't be able to mail it to your house.

Christy Carol
11-17-2006, 07:11 AM
LOL!! I could see that...in my little dinky town of less than 1K people it would freak them out. Probably cause a mass evacuation.

GingerMel
11-17-2006, 07:18 AM
Yes, people get really weirded out by that word. Little do they know all the microorganisms that grow on/in them every single day.

So...did anyone run right out and try the S&S shake? I might have to this weekend. I'm might run a 5K tomorrow morning and the site just so happens to be right near a SteakNShake. If I get one I'll let you guys know how it is.

Christy Carol
11-17-2006, 07:40 AM
If you run a 5K mile tomorrow then you deserve to have two shakes!!!!

GingerMel
11-17-2006, 07:45 AM
Hah hah...actually you don't burn that many calories running 3.2 miles.

I just exercise so I can drink egg nog and not gain weight! hah hah.

Christy Carol
11-17-2006, 07:47 AM
Dont tell me that! I walk 3 miles a day and I know I must be burning like 5 gazillion calories!!!

GingerMel
11-17-2006, 07:53 AM
Actually if you walk 3 miles a day you should feel great about it.

If you walk 3 miles and I run 3 miles we burn the exact same number of calories. It's just that walking takes more time. Running is faster but a LOT worse on your body.

Good for you! a 5K everyday! Talk about deserving a shake or two!

Christy Carol
11-17-2006, 08:11 AM
Thank you! And I figured you would burn more calories...learn something new each day.

I am not sure when the eggnog milkshakes come out at Sonic or Andy's but now that I have learned that little tidbit of info I think I will indulge this year after all!

Ervserver
11-17-2006, 08:31 AM
Wonder how many calories you burn lifting a mug of eggnog several times per day

GingerMel
11-17-2006, 08:33 AM
Several? Now Erv...you are selling yourself short.

I think the word "numerous" applies here.

Christy Carol
11-17-2006, 08:34 AM
something tells me not as many as you consume lifting that mug...

Ervserver
11-17-2006, 12:41 PM
I've doubled my daily dose of eggnog in an effort to get my stomach pre-stretched and prepared for the Thanksgiving feast

GingerMel
11-19-2006, 08:23 AM
Ok so I ran that 5K and then got an egg nog shake (since there's Steak and Shake right near by).

But here's the cool thing...Steak and Shake was one of the sponsors of the run and before I even ran the race they gave out free shake coupons!!

THen after the race they gave out free small shakes (none of which were egg nog or even strawberry, so I didn't get one). But isn't that awesome?

Ervserver
11-19-2006, 09:08 AM
free! I might even run a 5k for that.....ummmm no

dvdelf
11-19-2006, 09:21 AM

Ervserver
11-19-2006, 11:34 AM

GingerMel
11-20-2006, 06:40 AM
You would have at this race...they were there for anyone attending the race to take. My husband sometimes will go with me to cheer me on and he gets to munch on the free food and get free stuff too.
