What's Santa up to in May?

The remodel in the wrapping department is still running a little behind schedule and a few more issues have popped up. The electricians found out that the wiring wasn't the gauge they thought it was, so now the whole department has to be rewired to accommodate all the new machinery. There have also been some problems with getting supplies to the north pole because of all the bad weather across the globe. The workshop is also having supply issues. Most people don't know that Santa gets alot of his paint from the automotive companies in japan and alot of them were destroyed by the earthquake and tsunami. The procurement elves have went to secondary suppliers but they are having a hard time keeping caught up with the demand. The stables are running smoothly. All of the baby reindeer have started their training in hopes that they will be ready for operation merry Christmas 2012. Mrs. Claus is hard at work with the kitchen staff coming up with new ideas for this year. They are looking for ways to modernize the gingerbread house without getting to far away from the traditional design. Santa is hard at work getting ready for operation merry Christmas 2011. He has started planning the route he wants to take this year and where he plans to stop and switch out reindeer teams. He has also been working on his secret project that he won't tell anyone about. Things have been a little bit rough this year at the north pole but Santa knows that it's nothing that can't be overcome in the weeks and months to come.

Santa's continues running clean-up in several areas of concern:

six elf miners became temporarily trapped in a cave-in at the Nerf foam mines... no one was hurt, though...

a recently diagnosed as "color blind" elf caused some delays in the Twister Mat Dot Paint Dept...

the reindeer went out on strike when the workshop snack cart switched from Starbuck's to Caribou coffee...

I attended a baseball game in Maryland last Saturday night---Frederick Keys vs. Wilmington Blue Rocks---and spotted Santa there, complete with a red baseball cap topped by a white pompom, red shirt, Christmas-print suspenders, and red jacket. I was able to capture a few seconds of him on video. I didn't know before that he was a Keys fan! Having him there was good luck---the Keys won!

I think Santa will give the Reindeer a run out to stretch their legs, they will take turns also to pull the sleigh in groups of 2 & 4.

The last lot of the new stock has been ordered and will be ready to be shipped to the workshop. The prep and landing crew are ready to take off for their early summer vacation, (All Elves have to be back in the North Pole by the end of June)

I think Santa is visiting his brother, Sinterklaas, who lives in Spain, Spain is lovely in may, and not flooded with tourists, like during the summer! Don't you think the two of them have a lot of catching up to do?

(Sinterklaas is actually Saint Nick, but here in Holland, they tell kids now a days that they are brothers, and that in some countries, kids get more presents from Santa because Saint Nick (the older brother) can't do it all by himself! :) )
If my brother lived in a place like this, I'd go visit him as well!

Many elves are probebly on holiday, others are still working steadily. The sleigh is being repainted and the bells tuned up properly.

Painting stripes on each candy cane...thousands of them. But.... If he were here in Montana right now he'd be going to Cabelas for some rubber boots, wadders and a fishing pool. The waters are high here right now and lots of flooding going on.
