I have tried to upload a picture it is accepting it updating my profile then all i am seeing the red x in the small box where my picture should be i have also tried direct linking to the picture from my own personal site and it is still not having help i am confused :o :-o

It's my understanding that the upload feature is currently disabled due to the load it put on the server and Jeff is working on it when he can. You can still get your custom avatar, though. Host the desired picture at an image hosting site such as photobucket.com. Then copy the url for the hosted image and paste it in the box next to "Link to off-site Avatar".
