June turned out to be a good month for Operation Merry Christmas. The remodel of the wrapping department was finally finished. There was a few tense moments when the machines were turned on for the first time and they started crushing the presents as they were wrapping them but after a few adjustments to their strength they are running smoothly. The wrapping department is way behind and will likely go to around the clock operations shortly after the 4th of July. The workshop is on schedule and they are offering to help out the wrapping department if they need it. The stables have the reindeer down to once a day workouts for the next couple of weeks. They are letting the reindeer save their energy for Santa's big trial run on July 25th. The bakery is starting to crank out candy canes by the thousands. It is to early to start making the chocolate candies that Santa puts in the kids stockings but they can start on the hard candy anytime after the beginning of June. Ms. Claus has one heck of a 4th of July celebration planned for the elves. She has sent dasher to pick up the best chocolate available for the hot chocolate and cookies. She also has planned one heck of a dinner but she is keeping it a surprise from everyone expect the head chef. The plans for this years fireworks display are rumored to be the biggest yet and the elves have noticed an awful lot of mysterious crates being shipped in lately. Santa has been busy finalizing the route he plans to take on the trial run this year. He usually uses it to test a new route he is thinking of taking on Christmas eve. He flies over every house he will deliver to but he does not stop at them. The trial run usually takes about a quarter the amount of time that the actual run on Christmas eve will take. He has also been encouraging the elves to get plenty of rest and to enjoy this last month of the slow period before things really kick in to gear next month. Over all Santa is quite pleased with the progress of Operation Merry Christmas 2011 and can't wait to party with all of the elves at the annual 4th of July party.

The fireworks display is being set up and prepared, half of the world's presents have been made, present packing has begun and planned routes are being mapped out.

overtime is avaialble to all Elves, some will be pulling double shifts, I would guess the toy factory is running at around 75%, Santa will be looking at a map of the world working out the best places to have a break, sending the prep and landing crew out to scout the areas.
