While most people are getting ready for Halloween, military families are already planning for Christmas shipping.
The earliest deadline for sending holiday packages to troops overseas using Parcel Post is November 12th.
"We encourage everyone planning to send something special this holiday season to remember these early deadlines," said Greater South Carolina District Communications Coordinator Harry Spratlin. "Meeting the deadlines will help make sure that cards, letters and packages to loved ones serving overseas will reach their destinations in time for the holidays."
Other Deadlines for domestic shipping are:
• Parcel Post: Dec. 15th
• First Class: Dec. 20th
• Priority Mail: Dec 21st
• Express Mail: Dec 22nd
"Nothing lifts the spirit higher than using the mail to communicate with our service members during the holidays," Spratlin said. "Receiving a card, letter or package brings loved ones closer to family and closer to home."
