We will be decorating Thanksgiving weekend. So far, we have about 30 strands of white lights in the bushes and around the gutters and frame of the house. We will add a couple more this year because we now have a tree that has grown enough to support strings of lights. I've got pictures from the last couple of years that I could post but I don't know how to post them. If someone could tell me how, I would be happy to show everyone.

I decorate Thanksgiving weekend. I have a wreath with a Snowmommy and Snowbaby. I want to add lights to it this year, but I have to find a good set of battery operated lights. I wrap the step handrails and door frame with lighted garland and red ribbon/bows. I have two lighted mini-trees that I put beside the door. I also have a Christmas flag and "Santa stop here" sign that I put out. If I have the money, I want to get something else to set out. I haven't decided what though.

:yahoo:I'm already late doing my decorating because I should have started in late September and I haven't started yet. I'm trying the computer automated-music syncronization this year. Normally, we've started in mid November when there was no animation involved.

I usually start decorating the weekend of Thanksgiving. I try not shopping on Black Friday. So decorating seems the answer. Usually I put green pine garland on my fence with bows at each fence post and I have rope lights that finish it off. The house has the typical icicle lights and the flagpole is wrapped in red and white rope lights to make it look like a peppermint stick. I use to have an archway for my gate, but it died, I need to get another one. And my rope light train died also.

I usually start pulling boxes out Thanksgiving Day or day after. Then it gives me time to sort, clean do what I need to do. I like to decorate outside...every year I try to add more lights etc. I always have the icicle lights around my house...I also, put lights around my main windows, I have a couple candy cane lights I use, wreaths etc.

We don't have a specific date that we decorate outside, but my *rule* is that everything has got to be up & ready to plug in when we get home from my family's Thanksgiving dinner (Thanksgiving night) We put lights up around the roof line of our house, a lighted wreath over our front porch & some lighted ribbon over the wreath, a lighted Sleigh, Santa & reindeer go in the front yard. I cover the front door with red paper, & hang a Christmas wreath on the front door. I put clear lights w/ red bows on the shrubs on each side of our front porch... Every year we add something new. :-D

well.... last year I had everything inside AND out up a few days BEFORE halloween. But this year i am going to wait a little bit seeing that I have to go buy more lights and stuff for the outside. We are getting the outside of our house redone and the painters probably would not appreciate having to paint around a bunch of lights. So I think we will get everything up and finished a little before Thanksgiving or maybe a week after. Not to mention the weather here is really stinky- it was 92 degrees here today..... second week of october and summer is still sticking around.
