I met with someone today who needs helpers and managers for their Santa set at the mall and am still thinking about whether or not I'm going to say yes or not. On one hand it seems like it may be fun but on the other I'm not sure I exactly wanna stand behind a camera hours at a time trying to get kids to stop crying and similar issues lol. Not that all the kids who go up start crying, but it's a part of the job.
Just wondering if anyone else has had experience.

I never have tried this. I think it could be fun minus the screaming kids...*L* But for the most part I think you would have a great time. My daughter bless her heart has never had a fear of going to see Santa. As a matter of fact I took her to Sears one year and it was a real pain trying to get the perfect picture...so I finally gave up. A few weeks later I had to take a friend to an appt. I decided to hit the mall to browse around. Santa was there that day and I thought oh wouldn't this be cute if she got her pic. taken....so I decided to try this again. I got in line and sat her on Santa's lap, stood back and that baby (she was only 5months old) had the biggest grin I had ever seen since the day she was born (no kiddin people she was colic and not a very happy baby). Oh they turned out so darn cute I cried. I just couldn't believe it. So her first real offical picture was with Santa. Made my day=)
(Will someone please tell me how to post a pic, to this reply.)
I've never done that, but I once dressed up as Santa for Halloween

I've made a cup of tea for Santa when he visited the play-group that my Mum used to work at... Does that count?!

I've been a Mall Santa for 10 years... It's not the easiest job in the world. If you don't have a sense of humor and a ton of patience it's not the job for you. The children aren't a problem... it's the parents you have to tolerate. Some of them get a little out of hand after standing in line for two hours and they can't get their kid to smile or sit on Santa's lap... or get the exact pose they want... or get the lighting....or the price/package...and they never blame Santa-- they blame the help...
ho ho ho????

I've never done anything of the sort, if I was to do that, I would want to hand out the candy cane as the kids leave.
