I have always loved Christmas. I used to be able to wait until the fall before my thoughts turned to Christmas but after my daughter was born, I would start getting the Christmas urge about mid summer. It just seems since then my thoughts wonder to Christmas sooner and more often. Now I think and plan for holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) all year long.
I am shopping for gifts all year, searching for and trying new recipes to incorporate into my hopliday cooking/baking all year long too.
I could go 6 months without watching a Christmas movie or a rerun on TV. Not anymore!! LOL!
Oh well I guess there are far worse addictions to have then this.
I think I will go watch a Christmas movie now. I just have to decide which one to watch. LOL!

I am always looking for different things that are on sale to pick up for my girls & there b/f's for Christmas. I can listen to Christmas music all year long & watch Christmas shows everyday if they were on.

I went about a month after Christmas then I found myself singing Christmas songs and watching Christmas movies. I think about Christmas all the time. On snowy cold winter days(or cold snowy Spring days here in MI). I find myself feeling like I do in November and December.

May I should Have started this "Hi my name is Bill and I am a Christmas Junkie"

"Hi Billy..."

Not sure where or when my addiction developed but it is full blown...Music all year, movies when I'm home alone or my wife will allow, thoughts just about everyday...It just makes me feel good! I don't see any harm in it, and when Christmas finally comes around, I don't feel so pressured to jam all the activities in because I've been in the spirit for most of the year.

This is one addiction I'm not looking to recover from!

Funny you should mention it. I'm somewhat of a numbers guy and I keep a close watch on our site visitors. I think it may be the economy or something but so far 2008 is looking a lot like 2002 did in terms of the pattern...we had more off-season spikes in visitors that year than any other year...until 2008. Now, back then we didn't have forums so we can't honestly compare it but when I take a look at our non-repeat visitors (typically non-forum users and usually the highest number of visitors overall) it is evident that Christmas is on the minds of a more more people so far in 2008.

Hi my name is Annette and I am addicted to Christmas. This "habit" was instilled in me from early childhood....*L I love Christmas and everything that goes along with it. From baking to wrapping gifts you name it! It all started with me as I had mentioned as a child. My mother loved Christmas too...we always had a Christmas Eve. gathering that my mother hosted every year in our home. She would have everything decorated to a T...lots of homemade goodies...great appetizers...a gift exchange. Pictures of everyones families were also taken. Thanks to her she showed me what Christmas was all about and it has stuck with me. I now share all the joys and excitement with my little one. For me thinking of past Christmas' with my family and friends always brings a smile to my face. I have so many fond memories...and now that I am older and have my own family I share all the memories with them and we also make new memories too!

Its funny that this thread came up because I was going to start something similar.

For me, I never used to love Christmas the way I do now. I never hated Christmas, to me it was a holiday where in my mind I always said, "OK, lets just do it and get it over with." Maybe another reason I never developed a love of Christmas was because I used to live in Iowa and having to deal with the cold and snow all winter. Here in Arizona is so much different.

I feel that my turn around about Christmas was about the year 2000. I was just tooling around the web and Googled Christmas links and started looking. Also, I feel as I was getting older, I started thinking back to my youth.

Anyway, I totaly love Christmas (minus the shopping and the crowds). I love Chrismtas shows and Christmas music. I enjoy putting out Christmas lights and displays outside, and walking through our neighborhood and seeing other Christmas lights and displays. I love getting my artificial Christmas tree out of storage and putting it up with all its trimmings.

I just love the fact that there so many Christmas websites, this one included, to choose and visit anytime I desire. My love for Christmas will never end.

I'm a bonafide Christmas junkie! When I was younger, I would start getting the Christmas bug around the end of November but now that I'm older it actually starts much, much earlier.

Right after Christmas, I'll go through a "down time" where I'm basically recovering and dealing with the fact that Christmas is over and it'll be an entire year before it comes around again. Then, somewhere around springtime, I start thinking Christmas, I start looking for Christmas gifts (you never know when you're going to find the "perfect" gift), etc.

Somewhere around the end of July, I start *really* getting geared up for Christmas. I start listening to the Christmas music in my office, I start watching Christmas movies again, etc.

Somehow I just don't mind being addicted to Christmas! :tree:

Another self proclaimed Christmas addict here. But as I tell everyone, "If you have to be addicted to something, Christmas is not a bad thing to be addicted to!" I've never had anyone tell me I should switch to booze!

Yepp, the wife and I are addicted. I was one of the many people that didn't get into it until November, but about 3 or 4 years ago, I started getting excited for it earlier and earlier to the point that I was excited about the next Christmas the day after the current one, lol.

I am definitely an addict! I don't need an intervention...thank you very much...LOL!!

I love all things Christmas! There isn't an aspect about it that I don't like. I even like the crowded shopping areas, it adds ambiance. I like the harried (sometimes) pace of Christmas. I like standing back and watch the kids visit Santa (mine are too old now at 14 and 12). I like to wrap presents. I like to bake. I like to see people open the presents that I spent way too much money on and backbreakingly wrapped! Makes it all worth it!!

I love most of all, the spirit of Christmas. It represents everything good and right. It reminds me of God's love and sacrifice. Being a Christian means being "like Christ". It seems the easiest time of year to be that!

I taper off from Candlemas to Easter. Then I start thinking of special gifts and start listening to Christmas music. Once we get to the summer solstice and the days start to get shorter I start to think seriously about this years decorations. By July I'm on line buying ornaments and Advent calenders and in August we make plans for for a Christmas visit by some of our out of town family to get good airline connections. Once the plans are finalized I get going on my Christmas craft projects and for me the Season has begun. Does this make me an addict?--I think so.

from april-july... i tend to think about it a few times a week, i begin to mention it to family and friends.

august-december... complete christmas nut! if there were such thing as christmas rehab, i would be locked in and never let out.

i'm proud to be addicted to christmas!
