A Winters Walk

The wind plays along the trail making the limbs creak slightly,
And the sun struggles to peak through the gray sky overhead.
Tis a day for a journey lead by nature’s cool touch,
A chapter in life, that to this day that has been unread.
Dense branches on soaring trees are now covered in crystal,
Mother Nature’s sparkling tinsel in its most natural state.
All the leaves have long since fallen and are buried deep below,
Beneath the fresh snow that has covered all that lies in wait.
The ice covered stream no longer runs freely as the wind blows by,
Frozen in time is the water that once flowed through the lands.
A heavy sheet of ice now serves all, as an arctic seasonal bridge,
Allowing passage, that before, was not well within hand.
In the distance there is movement alongside a powder covered shrub,
