Good Morning, Preakness Peekers!
If you want to watch the second leg of the triple crown, the Preakness Stakes is this afternoon.

And if you want to watch the count, it's at the starting gate and ready to run!
Days to the Season: 179
Days to Christmas Day: 221

The 200-Day Christmas Day Window?
Well, it's coming up on the far turn and will be here THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY!

It just keeps getting warmer by the day, and we could top 90 by this afternoon.
I just hope the humidity doesn't move in yet!
Our present temperature this AM is 66 degrees.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody!
Thanks Crown! Have a great Weekend Before Memorial Day Weekend!

Good morning, all! Hope you are as good as this coffee I'm drinking. The girls and I are up, we have a birthday today, and we also have a community clean-up. I'm pretty excited about it.

School is about out and my thoughts have been shifting more and more towards Christmas. When we hit 4th of July, I really start thinking about it full-time! Why do I bring this up? Doc said last night that we needed to go check out Hobby Lobby and see if Christmas stuff is out. We never go before 4th of July, so I told her that she would have to go by herself. Does anynoe know if they have ornaments out?

Good Morning .. Our daughter had a great time at Prom last night. The local paper published a link on their website and on FB of pictures from last night's prom and she is in several of the pictures. One I really love so I think I will buy the picture from them to frame. We took our son out to dinner last night and bought him a new marvel lego set. Today will be spent doing chores, laundry and grocery shopping. Have a great day!

Happy Weekend!

Finally getting some May-like weather here---beautiful blue sky that sets off the blossoms and the new leaves. Temps should get to near 70 today. Couldn't ask for much better.

We went out last night to get a new window AC before the hot weather sets in, and they were on sale. So we're all ready when the heat gets here. Hard to believe that next weekend is Memorial Day weekend; then it's only a few weeks until the Fourth of July. I'm in the mood to head out to Christmas Tree Shop to see all the stars-and-stripes stuff!

Good Morning, Post-Preakness People!
Yes, the second leg of the triple crown was run yesterday.

Now we are not yet down to the final leg of our countdown, but we are certainly drawing nearer and nearer by the day.

Consider:
Days to the Season: 178
Days to Christmas Day: 220

Then contemplate this:
The 200-Day Christmas Day Milestone marker stands just 20 days up ahead.
That's UNDER 3 weeks from now.
And tomorrow we will be down in the teens!

Warmer and warmer we go by the day.
Yesterday saw a high of 93 and we will get a repeat today before dropping into the upper 80's tomorrow.
Our current beginning temperature here in mid-state is 77 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday, Friends!
Enjoy the balance of your weekend.

Good morning, MMC! I did't get a chance to check in yesterday. As soon as I go to work, my co-worker and I hit the ground running, DH was working when I got home, so I got the kids dinner, I took care of the dogs, showered, and got the kids, and myself to bed. This is my normal weekend off - I was working for someone else yesterday, so I can be off next Saturday.

Today will mostly be relaxing - DH is teaching during the day. He's been working since Friday afternoon. This evening we plan on doing a campfire and cooking outside. The weather is supposed to stay decent - isolated thunderstorms, so hopefully the weather holds off.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi everyone! It's been a bit of time since I have been here. Unfortunately, life got pretty hectic. We had to go to Texas to handle some business for a family member who passed away last September. It was a chaotic and emotional trip. And my health has been acting crazy; I fell in the shower (3 times) in the hotel in Texas the first night and cut my toe which eventually became infected; I had another serious issue that landed me in the emergency room a few weeks ago, and now I have another infection as well as pneumonia. I have definitely been down and out! But my worst news is that my father passed away from Melanoma on Easter morning. He was in so much pain and it is a blessing but I am still heartbroken. It was a very stressful time with the funeral (which is where I am almost 100% sure I got the pneumonia) as well as taking care of my elderly mother. She came down to spend a week with us afterwards (until I got sick...we sent her home right away, but now she has it too!) and she is going to move closer to us eventually in a small apartment. SO many things going on for me in such a short period of time! I haven't had a chance to read through a lot of what I missed but I hope and pray everyone is doing well. I am going to try and stop in more frequently here. It is the one place that always makes me happy and I can use that right now!!

Sugarmuffin25, you have my deepest condolences on the passing of your father. I'll be keeping both you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers. Sending love and hugs your way. {{{HUGS}}}

I am off today and heading to London with my dad to visit my cousin and her husband - my cousin shared my bedroom when she was a teenager - good times, her friends were hippies. She's like a big sister.

Haven't seen her since August so it will be good visit.

O'Malley will be on his own until Sunday night, but he's used to me travelling. I just set up an extra litter box and food and water stations so he doesn't need anything while I'm away.

I have to hop in the shower soon and pack.

My dad doesn't have Sirius radio in his car so I have a few CDs for our drive, including a Steve Martin one that should prove entertaining; slipping Tony Bennett Duets, Ella Fitzgerald and some John Lennon in there.

I am not bringing my laptop so I'll check in when I get back unless it's really late, 'cause my dad might want to stop by Casino Rama on the way back.

:ornarment Have a great weekend!
Keep a merry thought in your head :shakeit

Hello all!
We just back from Detroit and the Motor City Comic Con. It was quite crowded yesterday, but fun. The best was we got to meet John Cleese and get his autograph. He was very nice and polite. I have always been a big fan. Fawlty Towers is one of my favorite shows of all-time.

We wanted to meet Tom Ellis, who is now famous for the show Lucifer, but we are fans of his from his role on the British show Miranda. However, we did not want to get his autograph, just a selfie and to say hi. My wife even made a shirt that had a quote from the show on it. Unfortunately he was not doing selfies and the Con would not allow meet and greets without paying for an autograph.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. This week is my last week of school. Monday and Tuesday are regular days and then Wednesday through Friday are exams. Friday is an early dismissal for students, but teachers have to stay until 9PM. :( Oh well, then the school year is over. I am quite ready for summer break. This has been a LONG year. It is time to recuperate and then make some changes for next year.

Everyone have a great evening and start to the new week!

Happy Week Before Memorial Day MMC! Big Weekend ahead of us which always makes Monday seem a little less "ugh." Knowing we have a long weekend ahead of us and it ushers in unofficially summer time and that road back to the Bers is just awesome. Have a great Monday!

Some of the Heritage Gardeners committee has started an initiative in our community to adopt a neighbourhood to encourage regular clean up; up until about three years ago, we could pride ourselves on how clean we were, but the last few springs have revealed several dumping grounds and litter all over the place so it's a good idea. I don't think we have to adopt a neighbourhood, taking care of our property and businesses taking care of their storefronts and Parks and Recs taking care of the park grounds should be enough to keep us looking pretty.

I don't know who thinks stuffing garbage into a snow bank is a good idea. If the people dumping stuff at the side of the road here and there were caught, they would incur fines.

Oh yes, I'm an eclectic listener. I have my own office now, but when I used to share it with someone else, I hoped they wouldn't complain about the tunes playing softly in the background. The mix would include a few Christmas tunes and anything from Muddy Waters to CCR, to the Rat Pack, to Springsteen, to Elton John, to Pink and a bunch of stuff in between.

My former office mates would say, "Wow, you're quite the eclectic listener" as a Frank Sinatra song would follow Lady Gaga.
