Looking for a particular version of A Christmas Carol on DVD...

Hey all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far!

:tree:

Every year around this time I begin to watch my collection of A Christmas Carol movies and I got to the version from Tales From Dickens: A Christmas Carol (1958)...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0716814/

I recorded it to DVD from VHS a few years back and the audio is, well, inaudible!

I was wondering if anyone knew where I might find a version a bit cheaper than this...

Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

......

Yeah - that one is a rare one...

Yeah, the other flick with Basil Rathbone is from Shower of the Stars I think. In that one Frederick March played Scrooge.

I have that version on a CD with a Bing Crosby holiday special I believe, but I am going to purchase the standalone version. Or, does that have other stuff on it as well?

Now I'm looking for "The Right To Be Happy", which is the first feature length adaptation.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

cheesy That's not going to be easy to locate. It's considered a lost film. There are mixed reports of the actual date of release from 1912, 1916 and 1917. I've never watched any of the non-talking roles of Ebenezer. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Thanks for the lookout.

OK, I've quickly gone through my collection and here is what I would like to acquire...

-A Christmas Carol - 1908 with Tom Ricketts.
-A Christmas Carol - 1943 (TV) - William Podmore.
-Leyenda de Navidad - 1947 - This has been mentioned in various Christmas Carol literature as a notable foreign version.
-A Christmas Carol - 1947 (TV) - John Carradine.
-A Christmas Carol - 1953 - From the "Kraft Television Theatre" (#1.11).
-Story of the Christmas Carol - 1955 (TV) - Norman Gottschalk - not sure about this one, but would like to take a look.
-Mr. Scrooge - 1964 (TV) - Cyril Ritchard.
-A Christmas Carol - 1977 (TV) - Michael Hordern.
-Scrooge - 1978 (TV) - Warren Graves.

So, I have some searching to do, but if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

Another quest continues!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
