Snow or water globes? A knitted throw/blanket? A nice picture frame with a professional picture of you in it?

My mom likes to go with friends for coffee and occasional meals. She has requested nothing but gift cards for a couple of years now. She lives in a small place and really has no need for more stuff. But gift cards allow her to enjoy time out with friends more often and is something that will last a lot longer than a bottle of hand cream.

My grandparents always liked when we would create a gift basket/ box with all sorts of goodies in it. Things like jellies, jams, cookies, candies, cheese and sausage, cocco, teas, etc... Nothing has to be very large, as a matter of fact, like liked the small jars of jellies and such because they would not sit around for so long and if you buy different varities, it kind of mixes things up a bit...

You can find all sorts of things like that and have real good luck at a local (Mom and Pop) shop, farm stand, etc... that make the sort of hard to find stuff; maybe things from days of old that your grandparents may like and have not had it in ages...

As it was said in the movie Christmas Vacation; "Clark, that's the gift that keeps on giving throughout the entire year"

Hope this helps!!!

Do they listen to music? I know I've been trying to get my mother some CD of old LPs that she used to have. Same with movies, do they have a DVD player? Maybe find some old VHS movies they used to have and get them on DVD? A few years ago I got my Mom and Mother-in-law beautiful Christmas wreaths they could put up each year.

I'm on board for the music! Do they have any old LPs or 45s,etc that have not been reissued on CD? You can transfer the vinyl to CDs. If you can't, I bet you can find someone that can.

A magazine subscription for one of their interests. If they are computer savvy, maybe even an electronic subscription.

I got my parents a sign that says: Welcome to Nana and Papa's Place, where hugs and kisses are given! That is from my kids. They will love it. It wasn't expensive either. Only $9.00 and I found it on ebay.
