I have a xmas short story that i need help with........

.......with regard to getting it in print and then on to the TV. Havent a clue where to start, dont want to go through a literary agent.

I know i'm biased but i think its fantastic. Tells the story about Santa's search for Rudolph on Christmas Eve and the entire piece rhymes seamlessly.

I'd love to see it on TV or the internet, i believe it could become a christmas classic if its given the right tone with regard to illustration, tone, narration etc etc.

Any info/advice much appreciated.

I'm not sure how you would pull it off but I'm fairly certain you'd have copyright issues by using the character of Rudolph.

Rudolph and Frosty are, indeed, copyright secured characters... you may be able to get a blog to run it as "fan fiction", but no one is allowed to publish anything with those characters without express written consent of the copyright holders...

Plus, no studio will even look at a manuscript that isn't brought in by an agent...

Good luck, though...

You will certainly have issues with copyright, but don't let that deter you.

Be a bit more creative, change the character's names in the story is one idea. You don't have to call him 'Rudolph.' you could always invent a new myth. Go for originality and people will notice more. Don't bother with fan fiction, it won't really get you anywhere. Once you're done you could always take advantage of self-publishing and who knows what that will lead too.

Good Luck
