Angel Hair

I was wondering if anyone still used angel hair on their tree. Back in the 1970's I had a relative that always had it on her tree which was the first time I ever seen angel hair on a tree.

It gives the tree a different look and I think there has to be a special talent to get it on correctly.

i use to use angel hair when i lived with my parents.they always used it and it made the tree look nice but they always told me that when u touch it it makes you itch.i didnt believe them until i did touch it.but i think they make it now that it doesnt make you itch so i might use it on my tree this year.

Growing up, it seemed to be the rave (the in thing) when I was a kid. But as for myself now, I don't use it at all. I think it looks nice, easy to go on the tree, but such a pain to remove it, since we have all artificial Christmas trees now. It always gets all intertwined in the branches, needles, lights and decorations, makes for too much work. (just my opinion)...

It makes you itchy because it's made with fiberglass. A lot of stores do not carry it because of that but I hear you might be able to buy it online. It does give a tree a special look! Just have to be careful handling it or letting kids near it.

I am curious too, Joyful, if anyone here still decorates with it.

Edit: I am curious if they still make it without using fiberglass?

I have not seen it in the stores for years. we did use it one year, but did not really like it to much.

I have never even heard of this, I would be interested to see what it looks like.

It can be very pretty but I too never heard of it until my cousin's wife used it and we went to visit. And I'm sure there is an art to it.

I haven't seen it in the stores around here but then I don't look for. It makes the lights on the tree have a special look when used on trees.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Merry Christmas!

This is the only full picture of a Christmas tree I could find. It looks a little different, almost like a spider web.

Thanks for posting the photo. I do think there are different ways of putting it on the tree and this is a great example.
