Halloween Songs

Hello all. I can't wait until Halloween, and it will be here before we know it! My son loves Halloween, too, so we celebrate for at least half of October, going to carnivals and parties.

I was thinking: are there any Halloween songs that any of you know about? There are tons of Christmas songs obviously, but the two fall holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving, don't seem to have any dedicated tunes. Let me know if y'all think of any (for either day).

One of my faves would be "dead mans party". Lots of songs can be used as Halloween songs based on what they are about. Little later when i have time will post more of them.

If you don't mind something for the younger set, check out the "Halloween Howls" album by Andrew Gold. He has a great sense of humor that he uses for his songs.

I remember as a kid having a "book" (actually an overgrown greeting card) of Peanuts "Great Pumpkin Carols." They were Halloween words set to familiar Christmas carols ... but I can't remember one of them now. If I still had that, you would be all set!

I love the soundtrack from The Nightmare before Christmas. Then, there are songs I like from The Haunted Mansion, Rocky Horror Picture Show, GhostBusters and such...

I just remembered a song from Sunday School:

Jack Frost has come to visit us,
He plans to stay awhile.
To nip the nose and bite the toes
And make the pumpkins smile.

He'll scare the pumpkins off the vine
In time for Halloween,
And nip the nose of any ghost
That ventures to be seen.

Thanks for the list!

The Fat Boys do not get enough representation these days! Good to see they still have some love!
