It's October!

I woke up this morning to the imaginary sound of bells ringing! It is the first day of October and the tick tocking of my inner Christmas clock is now loud as can be!

It is time to start getting ready! Home DIY to complete, house to organise, homemade decorations to finish, Christmas playlist to compile, menus to plan and gift ideas to consider! The start of the Christmas season is only a few weeks away and October is like my own pre-season start. I want a head start to things so that I am not overly rushed and can savour the season.

I am looking forward to Halloween and celebrating my son's second birthday this month to!

What about all of you ? Anybody as excited about October as I am?! What have you got planned????

It's time to get ready!!!!!!!! :hi:

GREAT post!!!! If can feel your excitement, and it's invigorating!!!!

I really start watching a lot of scary movies, ghost stories, and do a lot of mystery reading. Last night I read another short story from a book called 13 Horrors of Halloween, with my Jack-O-lanterns illuminated 🎃

We take extra walks with Harlowe, just to feel the cool fall air & the leaves crunch beneath our feet. 🍁🍂

It's also time to start planning Thanksgivibg dinner!! And do some more Christmas shopping!!! 🎄🎁🎄

I always get a little thrill out of October. Throughout the day I initial and jot the date on the jobs I proofread, and I get a little jolt when I write "10" for the month---the first double-digit date of the year. October doesn't pretend to be summer, as some September days do---fall has definitely arrived, pumpkins are smiling all over, and our favorite holidays aren't far behind.

I also got a little thrill when we went to Boston Market yesterday. They have their flyers out advertising their Thanksgiving dinner specials! Over lunch we wound up talking about what our Thanksgivings were like when we were kids.

LOVE IT! My hubby mentioned last night that Halloween movies would start on tv every night now. I asked if he was going to watch them - he said sure & asked if I was going to watch with him. LOL! I love to watch them, but if I watch too many, I start freaking myself out - like if I have to go outside when it's dark....and it's getting dark SO early now & it's dark for our whole morning walk now too! And we're only to get more & more hours of darkness! So we'll see!!! As long as the Reds are playing, we'll be watching baseball! Hopefully they win tonight so we can watch some more baseball!
And yes - I definately take more walks in the fall. LOVE IT! And I love planning for Thanksgiving dinner too. So much to look fwd too! Nobody has offered to host our Thanksgiving this year - I love to host it, but hoping someone else offers since Thanksgiving is so late & I want to put up my Christmas decs before Thanksgiving!!!!

I forgot to mention - since I'm working on this Christmas afghan, I feel like I should be watching CHRISTMAS movies rather than scary movies.

Good luck to your Reds!!
