Nothing to do today...

an ice storm has put a cold damper on today's activities. I was supposed to drive the Sunday school bus but this stuff had started coming down so fast that it was coating the windows almost as fast as I could scrape it off. So I proceeded to drive home from the bus yard, very slowly as the roads had turned into a sheet of ice in the 15 min since I drove there. Cars were sliding through intersections and skidding out on the roads. I could go to church but I do not know where my skates are.
So here I stay, warm and dry.
How are all you doing today? Anyone else caught in this storm?

Hi Christmasstar...
Sounds very similar to what we got hit with awhile back. Better safe than sorry...glad you decided to head back home. I am never one myself to take any chances on roads like this. Our weather here in Montana hasn't been to bad lately..semi warm but the wind at times is unbearable. We did get a little snow last night but it didn't last long.

Get a candle burning, & bake some cookies (or something) & watch a movie ~ stay inside where it's warm & cozy & watch the weather!

"Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful..."

It keeps raining here, & then the sun comes out...rain...sun...It can't make up it's mind!

Stay safe!!

christmasstar light a candle, pour a glass of wine, grab a good book & have a nice relaxing day. As others have said better safe then sorry when it comes to those ice storms.

after the little bit of snow we had, it is now melting and the sun is shining brightly and spring is on its way. I can't believe that St. Patricks day is right around the corner and my Walmart store has Easter stuff in it already.

the ice rain is gone

replaced with just rain which has washed away all the ice that was on the trees and vehicles. Tomorrow is our new provincial holiday (family day) so we are going to head out to the pool where there is also a big hot tub, and relax with some friends.

Sounds like a good time. I am looking into different hot tubs myself. Then I won't have to drive all the time to go to the hot springscheesy

Hope you enjoyed your "lazy" day safe and warm inside and out of that nasty weather.

In our neck of the woods, the weather looks pretty much like what mammaduke described. I'm about done with this wacky weather. We had horrible winds/cold weather this weekend, coupled with the occasional downpouring of rain (or ice) for some variety in the misery. :-?

And, wouldn't you know it, my baby sister and her DH decide that *this* is the weekend they just *have* to move into their new house. :snowball: on her!

Must of been ucky trying to move someone this week-end, I know it was ucky enough just being outside.

christmasstar I hope you did have a nice relaxing week - end this week-end ? Did you get your glass of wine & snuggle up with a good book ?

Hope the week is better for everyone then the week- end was.
