Christmas Eve from birth to 19 was the same every year. Once married, we've had something different every year for the past 15 years! I truly enjoyed last Christmas Eve and hope to make what we did a new tradition.

I began the day by cleaning house just so the house won't become a disaster area once festivities begin! I believe DH brought biscuits from Hardee's to us, but he used to make pancakes, bacon, and eggs on Christmas morning. I think I'll see if we can do that this year! After DD's afternoon nap, we went to the mall and just walked around. We had a late lunch/early dinner in the food court. I expected a huge crowd, but it was nice. We left the mall and stopped at DH's best friends house---they always have a gift for DD & she calls him "Uncle Russ" even though we aren't related! We then went across the street to "Uncle's" parents house to visit them. They usually have a small gift for her too. Then we went home and make cookies for Santa---ugly cookies, but they were fun to make! We watched The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 2 while waiting for the cookies to bake. We threw out reindeer food, then off to bed for DD. I watched some of The Christmas Story marathon since I'd never seen the entire movie before, then Santa came and I went to bed. I know I stayed up later than my normal 10 p.m. bedtime!

We spend most of Christmas Day with family at both sets of our parent's homes. We get a break between breakfast and dinner and come home for DD's nap. During this time I'm sorting gifts and putting things away. I can't stand to have "stuff" all over the place!
