For both Thanksgiving and Christmas we have Ham and chicken and dressing and dumplings..VERY southern...we never have turkey anymore. Also on Christmas eve we get together and that meal alternates between something like finger foods(shrimp, sandwiches, veggies with dip) or soup or chili. I actually really enjoy that more thean the Christmas day meal.
Maybe it's a Tennessee thing? Growing up, we had ham on Christmas Eve, chicken and dressing on Christmas Day for lunch. I'm with you---I like the finger food meals better than the big meals.
