Okay - this is still bugging me!!!
I fail to understand why Santa is blamed for commercialism. The Santa I know delivers a message of love and surprise and the beginning of believing in something you cannot see (you are supposed to be asleep when he comes); it's the retailers that have spun things a bit out of control. Yet, there I am in line with other shoppers buying gifts for loved ones. I don't think that having too many decorations in your yard is a sign of commercialism, for many people it gives them joy and brings a smile to the faces of others who often drive well out of their way to observe an elaborate Christmas display set to music.
Sorry, Charlie Brown, but I don't think Snoopy winning first prize in the decorate dog house contest was a sign of commercialism. Great movie though.
